How would you like to run fitness retreats from anywhere in the world? What if you could choose any tropical location you like and take your best clients with you. Well, I will teach you how.
In this two part series, I want to teach you how to attract and how to market to get amazing clients and then how to run an awesome retreat anywhere in the world.
So, stick around. I’ll share a few key lessons.
The very first retreat I ran I just broke even because I made so many mistakes.
One of them—a bit of a funny story—one of them was: I had to pay 50 percent remaining on the accommodation which is about $5,000 US. It wasn’t a small amount.
And I thought I’ll just go to the bank in Bali and take this cash out. Well, they wouldn’t allow that. For a few reasons with the international banking system. So I had to go to the ATM and making withdrawals of just 150 Aussie at a time, I had to get out $5,000 US.
Now, it seems okay until you add up all the bank fees that come with that. It was seven or eight dollars per transaction which racked up a lot of fees which is why it ate my profits.
Those one of the many mistakes that I made.
But today I want to share—and by the way they went on to do very, very well after that I ran four in total. And the next three I didn’t make any silly mistakes like that.
So today I want to share three key lessons on how to attract—first of all how to market to, and how to find your perfect clients for the fitness retreat.
Three keys:
Tip #1
Number one is to really niche down who you are going to target. If you try to target anyone with a wallet and a heartbeat it’s not going to work.
So I suggest picking either male or female and choosing a 10 to 15 year bracket and then get really clear…
What are their problems, what is their pain, what keeps them up at night?
For example let’s say you’re targeting women in their 30s or 35 to 45. What are some of the things they’re going through? What changes that happen in their body. How can you help them? That’s that’s tip #1, to focus on a really specific niche
Tip#2
You can market to that niche with information now. You can run a weekly webinar to that niche. You can have a three part video series. You can have a really, really good cheat sheet or a E-book targeting women to man’s issues in fat loss for that exact niche.
Tip #3
Would be to set up a really, really good funnel from information whether that’s report, webinar, video series, you know in-person seminar, into a some kind of way to capture their details and then a phone call or a consultation to sell them into the retreat.
Bonus tip: Offer them a 12-week online program after the retreat.
Now you’re targeting women in their 30s and the retreat is going to give you some workouts information and some workouts and some adventure and some downtime and some one on one time.
When they return home the next week, they leave Hawaii or Bali or wherever it is, they get the 12 week online programming with you, which includes mindset, nutrition, training, recipes all the stuff that appeals to that niche, in the categories that they need.
Now you’re offering them a five day retreat Plus a 12 week online program specific to the niche and it’s much more sellable and appealing to that niche.
I hope that helps.
